THE 14TH KVS STATE RALLY – CUM – PRE JAMBOREE OF THE
BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES 2007
The 14th State Rally cum Pre Jamboree of the Bharat
Scouts and Guides KVS State was held at KV Pitampura from 21st
December 2007 to 24th December 2007. A total number of
488 participants consisting of 200 scouts, 200 guides, 30 Central
Team Members and 18 contingent leaders along with 40 escorts
attended the Rally representing 18 regions of the KVS.The Rally was
inaugurated by Dr. U. N. Singh, Joint Commissioner Academics and
State Commissioner Scouts of KVS state. Dr. Sachikant, AC Delhi
Region and Divisional Commissioner BS & G, KVS New Delhi, Shri J. P.
Gupta and Sri Anil Upadhyay, Education officers KVS Delhi Region and
Principals of the other Kendriya Vidyalayas graced the occasion. The
dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome by the venue Director and
Principal Host School, Dr. A.K. Sharma. He emphasized the value of
scouting and the need for social commitment and dwelt on the motto
‘One World One Promise’. Dr U.N. Singh, the state Commissioner KVS
State BS & G garlanded the portrait of Lord Baden Powel- the Founder
of the movement, and lit the lamp.The teams, braving the cold Delhi
weather, put up a spectacular show, beginning with the Flag Break,
and followed by the march past of all 18 contingents. The salute was
taken by Dr. U.N Singh. The Brass Band of Kendriya Vidyalaya
R.K.Puram Sector 8, and the Pipe Band of K.V. AGCR played foot
tapping marching melodies and added glamour to the show. This was an
awesome sight and left an indelible impression on the mind of each
one present.The March past was followed by colourful dances
presented by the students of KV Shalimar Bagh, KV Vikaspuri, KV
Rajokri, KV Janakpuri, KV Sainik Vihar and the host school KV
Pitampura.There were a host of other activities besides the Mach
Past They were the Gate Competition, Camp Craft, The Band, A Camp
Fire, Physical Display Folk Dances, Colour Party, Exhibition on
National Integration, Global Development Village, Food Plaza,
Pageant Show, Skill-o-Rama, Pioneering Projecting, Integration Route
March Cultural Exchange Programme and The State Day.Mr. S.S. Chamoli
LT(s) State Organizing Commissioner (S) gave a brief report of the
activities to be followed in the next 4 days. In his blessings to
the students present, the Honourable State Commissioner, Dr. U. N.
Singh impressed on the traits that
he wished the scouts & guides to have – to demonstrate the value of
scouting – to show the values imbibed.Later the dignitaries were
taken around to review the Gates, Exhibition and the Adventure
Activity Site.The programme ended with a Vote of thanks by Miss
Santosh Nagar SOC (Guides)The next three days were full of hectic
activities that included Dilli Darshan on the 22nd ,
March Past practice, group dance competitions and various other
activities on the 23rd. On the fourth day i.e. the 24th
All Faith Prayer was held led by the Venue Director, Dr. A.K.
Sharma. It was followed by Flag Break in a guide way. Then ‘First
Aid to the injured’ was held. Later there was a colourful pageantry
show.The valedictory function was held in the noon with Dr. A.K.
Sharma, Distt. Chief Commissioner as the Chief Guest. There were
colourful displays by the local KV’s. KV Sector 8, sector 25 Rohini
& the Venue Vidyalaya. It was followed by March past, and then the
much awaited Prize distribution. The Chief Guest blessed them and
congratulated the students for a smooth conducting of the Rally. The
Rally came to an end with the flag lowering.
